Kandi Pacchadi/ Kandi Pappu Pacchadi
Ingredients:
Red Gram/ Toor Dal 1/2 cup
Whole dried red chillies 2-3
Cumin seeds 1 tsp
Garlic pods 2
Salt to taste
Method of preparation:
Dry roast red gram on low heat until golden brown.
Heat a tsp of oil in same pan, add halved dried red chillies and saute for a minute or two.
First blend both the roasted ingredients together into almost smooth powder.
Then add cumin seeds and peeled garlic pods.
Add sufficient amount of water and blend together into tight mixture.
Serve with rice and ghee.
Notes: Make sure toor dal is roasted well.

I add a couple of peppercorns to this chutney. It tastes great with dal.

Hi I love this kandi pachadi, My mom used this quite often back at home. My hubby n kid being verocious meat eaters, all these amazing pachadis have become secondary at home.
