Soaked Methi in Yogurt

Ingredients:

Fenugreek Seeds 2 tsps
Plain Yogurt 2 cups
Green Chillies 1
Curry Leaves 2
Salt to taste

Talimpu:

Urad Dal 1/2 tsp
Mustard Seeds 1/4 tsp
Cumin Seeds 1/4 tsp
Broken Red Chillies 2
Oil 1 tsp

Method of preparation:

Soak fenugreek seeds in water for 2-4 hrs.
Lightly bruise the curry leaves.
Remove stem, wash and finely chop green chilli.

In a vessel, add yogurt, soaked fenugreek seeds, bruised curry leaves and salt.

Heat oil in small pan, add all talimpu ingredients in order.
When urad dal turns light brown, remove from heat and add chopped green chilli.
Add this talimpu to above yogurt mixture.
Mix thoroughly and serve chillied.

Notes: Add few sprigs of cilantro for enhanced taste.

    Hmmm..! I don’t know about chewing on soft Methi seeds,although I know they are very healthy to eat, helps blood sugar etc.
    I like everything else!:))

    just wondering wouldn’t the methi seeds taste bitter ….. and as for the chewing soft methi seeds part then wouldn’t grinding them a little solve that problem ??..but I know methin seeds are very very good for health ..and if it is not too bitter then i would love to incorporate this into my meals regularly …

    ya. it does taste bitter(not much). but for me mashing them just elevates the bitterness. experiment…cuz this is one healthy n traditional recipe

    If you have an upsetstomach, soak a tsp of methi seeds in 2tbspns of curd. Cover and leave it overnight. Eat the following morning.
