Soya Granules with Spinach

Palakura Meal Maker Kura.

Soya granules are soaked with hot water till soft. Onion is lightly browned and spinach is cooked along with sliced garlic and green chiles. Soya granules are added to the spinach and cooked covered before adding ground spices and red chilli powder for extra flavor.
Makes: around 3 Servings of Soya Granules with Spinach.


Spinach 1 1/2 Cups or more
Soya Granules 1/2 – 3/4 Cup
Onion 1
Green Chiles 3
Garlic 3 cloves
Red Chile Powder 1/2 tsp
Coriander Powder 1 tsp
Cumin Powder 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil 1 tbsp

Method of preparation:

Soak soya granules in boiled water for around 5 minutes.
Strain the soya granules and keep aside.
Wash thoroughly and finely chop spinach.
Peel and slice the onion.
Peel and finely chop or slice the onion.
Remove stems, wash and slice the green chiles.

Heat oil in a pan, add onion and fry till golden brown.
Add green chiles, garlic cloves and fry again for a minute.
Then stir in chopped spinach and cook till the spinach wilts.
Now add soaked soya granules and mix.
Cook covered for a minute, add red chile powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and salt.
Stir thoroughly and cook for another minute before removing from heat.
Serve soya granules with spinach with roti etc…
Notes:Make sure soya granules are not over soaked.

Suggestions: If soya granules are over soaked, strain and spread the granules on kitchen towel for sometime before adding to the curry.
Variations: You can also add ginger garlic paste and garam masala to the dish if you wish.

    HI it is a very good dish an nutritious . soya chunks can be added to any dish like upma sambar cabbage curry soya in any form is recommended in any form now days.
