Nuvvula Jeedi

Jaggery 2 cups
Toasted Sesame Seeds 1 tbsps
Ghee 1 tbsp

Method of preparation:

Heat jaggery, tsp of ghee and a cup of water in a pot.
Boil and keep stirring until jaggery syrup thickens and makes a firm ball when a tsp of syrup is dropped into iced water.
Quickly remove from heat and stir in sesame seeds.

Use the remaining ghee to grease a wide pan.
Pour the thickened syrup into a greased pan scraping the bottom of the pot.
While its still hot, keep stirring it with a strong spoon.
Alternatively, use hands to squeeze and twist the mixture if you can bear heat.
When mixture becomes warm, take tbsp of the somewhat hardened mixture and quickly make it into block with the help of fingers.
Repeat the same with remaining mixture when its still warm.
Store jaggery candies tight in a jar or wrap them in individual wrappers and serve as a candy when necessary.

Notes: Make sure the get the jaggery syrup right.
