Snake Gourd Fritters

Snake Gourd 5 inch long pice
Besan / Gram Flour 1/2 – 3/4 cup
Soda bi carb a pinch
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying

Method of preparation:

Wash, remove ends and slice snake gourd into circles.

In a mixing bowl, mix together besan, soda bi carb, salt together with little water into smooth tight batter.
Then stir in snake gourd circles and keep aside.

Heat oil in a frying pan on medium high heat.
Slowly drop the prepared snake gourd circles into hot oil.
Fry until they turn golden color on all sides and look crisp.
Remove onto absorbent paper and repeat the same with remaining snake gourd mixture.
Serve hot with any chutney or with pickle rice.

Notes: You can also stir in half a tsp of green chile and ginger paste into snake gourd mixture.
