Steamed Chana Dal Rice Balls

Ingredients:

Rice Rawa 1 1/2 cups
Chana Dal 3 – 5 tbsps
Salt to taste
Oil 1 tbsp
Ghee 1 tsp

Method of preparation:

Coarsely grind plain sona masoori rice in a spice blender to get rice rawa.
Cook chana dal in a cup or two of water until just cooked.

Bring to boil 3 cups of water in a sauce pot.
Add oil, salt, chana dal and rice rawa to the above pot and stir.
Cook covered on low – medium flame until the rawa is completely cooked and all the water is absorbed.

In a flat plate, spread hot cooked rice rawa, add ghee and fluff the whole mixture.
While the cooked rawa is still warm, take a scoop of the above mixture and roll into medium sized balls.
Repeat the same until all the cooked rawa is finished.
Serve chana dal rice balls with ginger chutney and mango pickle.

Notes: Make sure to cook rice rawa right.
