Spicy Mint Powder

Mint 3 cups packed
Chana Dal 1/4 cup
Urad dal 1/4 cup
Groundnuts 1/4 cup
Cumin Seeds 2 tsps
Garlic 6 pods
Red Chiles 4 – 7
Salt to taste

Method of preparation:

Peel and lightly crush garlic pods.
Wash, pluck and pat dry mint leaves.
In a shallow pan, add the dried mint leaves and fry on low flame until they dry a bit.

Heat oil in a pan, separately fry all ingredients except mint, garlic and salt until aromatic.
Cool all the fried ingredients to room temperature.
Grind all the ingredients in a spice blender into fine powder.
Store tight and serve with idly or steamed rice and ghee

Notes: Alternatively, use dried mint powder to mix with the spice blend.
