Moong Dal Ladoo

Split Moong Dal 1 1/2 cups
Sugar 1 1/2 – 2 cups
Pure Ghee 1 cup

Method of preparation:

Heat thick bottomed wok on low flame, add moong dal.
Roast the moong dal by stirring continuously until it turns lightly golden brown or until aromatic.

Using grain mill, grind the roasted moong dal into fine powder.
Alternatively, use a spice grinder to grind the moong dal in batches into fine powder.
Grind the sugar into fine powder and keep aside
In a saucepan, warm the ghee and keep aside.

In a mixing bowl, add powdered moong dal and powdered sugar.
Slowly stir in ghee to the above mixture and throughly mix using hands.
Carefully roll the mixture into small lemon sized balls.
Add more ghee if you can’t roll the mixture into balls.
Store moong dal ladoo tight in a jar and serve when necessary.

Notes: This moong dal ladoo stays for couple of months if taken care.
