Poha 1 1/2 cups
Yogurt 1 cup
Carrot 1 small
Cucumber 1/2 of small one
Green Chiles 2 – 3
Salt to taste
Urad Dal 1/2 tsp
Mustard Seeds 1/2 tsp
Cumin Seeds 1/2 tsp
Broken Red Chiles 2
Asafoetida a pinch
Curry Leaves 5
Oil 1 tsp
Method of preparation:
Wash poha under water for few seconds and strain the water.
Remove stems, wash and finely chop green chiles.
Peel, remove ends and grate carrot.
Wash, remove ends and grate cucumber.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together yogurt, grated carrot, grated cucumber, green chiles and salt.
Stir in washed poha and 1/2 – 1 cup of water if necessary.
Heat oil in a small pan, add all talimpu ingredients in order.
When mustard seeds almost stop spluttering, remove from heat and add to above bowl.
Stir and serve immediately.
Notes: Don’t wash poha for long else they become mushy.
