Chayote Raita

Benguluru Vankaya Perugu Pacchadi


Plain Yogurt 2 cups
Chayote 1
Onion 1
Tomato 1
Green Chile 1
Cilantro few sprigs
Black Salt a pinch
Salt to taste

Method of preparation:

Wash, halve, remove seed and finely chop chayote.
Peel and chop the onion.
Wash and finely chop tomato.
Remove stem, halve, remove seeds and chop green chile.
Wash and finely chop cilantro.

In a mixing bowl, add all ingredients and mix thoroughly.
If raita is thick, thin it by adding little water.
Serve Chilled.

Notes: Make sure chayote is clean without any blemishes.
