Cabbage Potato Curry

Bangala Dumpa Cabbage Kura


Cabbage 1 small
Potato 2 small
Green Chiles 2
Turmeric Powder a pinch
Salt to taste


Urad Dal 1 tsp
Mustard Seeds 1/2 tsp
Cumin Seeds 1/2 tsp
Oil 1 tbsp

Method of preparation:

Peel, wash, chop potato into small cubes.
Remove outer layers and chop cabbage finely.
Remove stems, wash and finely chop green chiles.

Heat oil in a pan, add all talimpu ingredients in order.
When urad dal changes color, add green chiles, potato cubes and cook covered until potato turns soft.
Then add cabbage, turmeric powder and salt.
Cook covered for few more minutes or until cabbage is soft.
Stir fry on high flame for a minute to give it a little crunch and evaporate any excess water.
Serve with rice or roti.

Notes: Add peas or coconut if you wish.
