Chana Dal Raw Chutney

Chana Dal 1/2 cup
Green Chillies 2
Salt to taste


Urad Dal 1/4 tsp
Mustard Seeds 1/8 tsp
Cumin Seeds 1/8 tsp
Broken Red Chiles 2
Curry Leaves 2
Oil 1 tsp

Method of preparation:

Soak chana dal for 4-5 hours in water.
Remove stems, wash and halve the green chillies.

Grind the soaked chana dal with green chiles and salt into somewhat coarse paste adding little water.
Heat oil in a pan, add all talimpu ingredients in order.
When urad dal turns light brown, add this talimpu to above chana dal chutney.
Serve with rice, dosa etc…

Notes: Make sure not to add water if not needed.

    We make this same chutney, but we add raw mango and call it ambe-dal.

    easy to make and yummy but i want to know some more chutneys.
