Bittergourd Fry with Garlic

Bittergourd 1
Garlic 2 pods
Red chilli powder to taste
Salt to taste
Oil 2 tbsps

Method of preparation:

Wash, remove ends and slice bittergourd into thin circles.
Peel and crush garlic along with red chilli powder and salt using a pestle.

Heat oil in a pan on medium-high flame and add bittergourd slices.
Stir-fry until for 5-10 minutes or until the slices turn dark.
Remove from heat, add garlic red chilli mixture and mix well.
Serve hot with rice and ghee.

Notes: To make the bittergourd crisp, leave for few more minutes on stove.

    I bought 2 bitter gourdlast week and made a gojju, will post sometime, got pics.
    Simple fry looks delicious. I will try this next time I get Gourd which is probably another 3 months!:D

    Bitterground is a vegetable i was force to eat by mother. Saying it is really healthy for us.
    I am not a fan from it. But your dish look so good that i woudn’t mind ttying it again

    i kinda like the bitterness, but to reduce it further
    apply salt to bitter gourd and let it stay for half an hour.

    wash thoroughly and then continue with the above recipe.
    if you like the tartness of tamarind, you can also cook bittergourd slices along with little bit of tamarind before frying.
