Poppy Seeds Ladoo

Ingredients:

Poppy Seeds 1 cup
Jaggery 1/4 cup
Cardamom 1

Method of preparation:

Lightly bruise the cardamom.
Heat a pan on medium-low, add poppy seeds and few tbsps of water.
Roast the seeds until all the water evapourates and keep aside.

Heat a deep vessel on medium flame, add jaggery, cardamom and few tbsps of water.
When the syrup becomes thick like honey, remove from heat and add poppy seeds.
Transform the mixture into small balls using hands before it cools down and become hard.

Notes: Complicated ladoo includes sesame, peanuts…

    WOW!! I have never seen or heard of Poppy laddoos. Looks delicious. Poppy makes you sleepy, don’t want to drive after eating one of those! ;D

    Mom makes gasagasala podi with jaggery and we used to roll them to laddus with neyi. Miss them very much…you pic is making me drool over them
