Neem Flower Powder

Vepa Puvvu Podem


Dried Neem Flowers 1/2 cup
Urad dal powder 1/2 cup
Salt to taste
Ghee 1 tsp

Method of preparation:

Heat ghee in small pan, add dried neem flowers.
Stir constantly and let them brown a bit.
When they turn golden brown, remove from heat.

In a bowl, mix urad dal powder, fried neem flowers and salt thoroughly.
Serve with rice and ghee.

Notes: You can add garlic while frying neem flowers.

    Dried neem flowers .. i am going to get that in my next India trip. You also had a dried neem flowers rice … too ..right? that was good too..

    Neem flowers? what do they taste like? I don’t think I have every seen a neem tree. ……….I am off to google some info about this tasty looking flower.

    I brought lots of dry neem from india . So I thought of making a healthy podi and after googling I came to know somebody did gr8 job already. Good luck anusha.
