Okra/ Bendakayalu 15
Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
Urad dal 1 tsp
Broken red chillies 3
Green chillies 3
Garlic 3 pods
Oil 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Method of preparation:
Wash and pat dry okra/ bendakayalu.
Remove ends chop them into 1 inch sized cuts.
Remove stems and finely chop green chillies.
Heat oil in a pan, add crushed garlic pods and fry for few seconds.
Then add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, urad dal and broken red chillies.
When dal turns light brown, add chopped green chillies and okra/ bendakayalu.
Cook covered for 2 minutes.
Then stir fry for few minutes until they are well cooked.
Serve hot with rice and ghee.
Notes: Add curry leaves and hing/ asafoetida if u have.
