Gherkin/ Tendli/ Dondakaya/ Kavakkai 10-15
Green chillies 3
Ginger 1 inch piece
Urad dal 1 tsp
Mustard seeds 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil 2 tbsps
Method of preparation:
Wash, remove ends and chop tendli twice vertically.
Boil it for 10-15 min or until tendli is tender.
Wash and remove ends of green chillies.
Peel the ginger and chop it.
Grind ginger and green chillies into coarse paste.
Heat oil in a pan, add boiled tendli and saute for 2 minutes.
Now add mustard seeds and urad dal.
Fry for few seconds and add chilli ginger paste.
Saute for a minute or two and add salt.
Serve with white rice.
Notes: Cooked tendli should yield when you cut through it.
