Arati Puvvu Annam

Arati puvvu/ Plantain flower 1
Green chillies 2-4
Salt to taste
Oil 1 tbsp

Boiled White Rice 2 cups


Chana dal 1 tsp
Urad dal 1 tsp
Mustard seeds 1 tsp
Turmeric powder a pinch

Method of preparation:

Heat oil in a pan, add the prepared flowers and saute for 4 min.
Make sure the flowers are properly fried and then add
finely chopped green chillies.
Now add all talimpu ingredients and stir fry 2 more min.
In a deep bowl, add rice, the above mixture and salt.
Mix well and Serve hot. Squeeze a slice of lemon if you wish.
You can also garnish with fresh coconut.

Notes: You can happily eat the mogga raw.

    Hi Raji, This rice dish looking grt. Till now i didnt try any plantain flower recipes. This rice recipe looking interesting and let me try. Y dont you publish more banana (raw) recipes. Thanks for sharing.

    i would like to add one more reciepe of plantain flowers.
    soak the flowers in curds cillypowder and salt for a day or 2.
    then filter the watery portion and dry in the sun for 2 days.
    this has shelf life of a year.
    this can be fried in oil and eaten very tasty.

    arati puvvu annam is definitely out of normal day to day cooking recipe and have tried it and it was awesome and delicious……..
    Normally I cook it with pappu to make a koora out of it.
