Bendi/ okra/ bendakayalu 15-20
Garlic pods 3-5
Red chilli powder 3-4tbsps
Salt to taste
Mustard seeds 1tsp
Urad dal(black gram split) 1tsp
Method of preparation:
Wash and dry the bendi with a kitchen towel.
Remove the edges and make a length wise slit making sure you dont cut it into half.
Make a smooth paste out of garlic, red chilli powder and salt using little water.
Stuff little amount of the above garlic chilli powder paste into the bendi.
Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, urad dal, stuffed bendi and stir fry for 5-10min
or until the bendi becomes tender.
Serve with rice and ghee.
Notes: Add little asafoetida/ hing/ inguva if you like.
