Arati aava pettina kura/ Aava pettina arati kaya
raw banana 1
dry red chillies 4(small sized)
Mustard seeds 1tbsp
salt to taste
Chana dal tsp
cumin seeds 1tsp
mustard seeds 1tsp
urad dal 1tsp
green chillies 3-4
Method of preparation:Remove the edges and peel the banana. Cut it into small cubes.
Cook the cubes along with tamarind until almost done.
If pressure cooked(2 whistles)
If microwaved(8-12min)Heat oil, fry chana dal, cumin seeds,mustard seeds,urad dal, green chillies for
1-2minutes or until you hear the spluttering of mustard seeds.
Add the cooked banana cubes and fry it for one more minute.
Cool them to room temperature.Grind mustard seeds and red chillies into fine powder.(This is called ava)
Now add the above powder and salt to the cooled fry.
Serve with hot rice and ghee.
Notes: Generally these type of recipes taste better if you give them a time period
of 6-8hrs before u eat. So prepare early, eat later.
